Kris Goodie (they/she) is a contemporary artist living in Vallejo, CA. Their intimate watercolors focus on interiority and change, of people, places, and things, searching for the tension between what is evident and what is hidden. With a unique detailed style, she pushes watercolor to its limits. Each piece reveals the subject and its own history in deliberate marks, every layer of wash and drybrush remaining visible, creating a quiet depth that is best experienced up close.
In 2023, they earned a BA in Art Practice from UC Berkeley and received the Wendy Sussman Memorial Award for excellence in painting. Their work has been exhibited throughout the San Francisco Bay Area. She is currently attending her first artist residency at Winslow House Project where she will be studying objects unearthed on the property, revealing history through signs of wear and residual evidence.
