Kris Goodie is a Vallejo-based artist whose intimate watercolor portraits focus on the gaze, hunting for what a person holds most privately and letting it bloom on the surface. Every layer of wash and drybrush stays visible, keeping the painting's history, and the subject's, right on the surface where it belongs.
In 2023, they earned a BA in Art Practice from UC Berkeley and received the Wendy Sussman Memorial Award for excellence in painting. Their work has been exhibited throughout the San Francisco Bay Area.
